As the culmination of several life transforming events, the Delaplanes started Mourning Dove Ministries, Inc. in December 2001.  Mourning Dove Ministries is coaching and counseling ministry dedicated to equipping individuals and couples with the tools to regain the intimacy, abundance and joy that has been lost in so many relationships, especially that of marriage.  This is accomplished in one-on-one settings, in weekend workshops and in multiple week classes.

Gary and Elvira also bring life experiences that will touch your life and relationships on many different levels.  The death of their son, Nathan, in May 2000 brought them to a total dependency upon God. As a result, they have  experienced transformation in their individual walks with Christ as well as in  their relationships, particularly with one another in the sanctity  of marriage.  God has anointed them for this ministry and has created  a burning desire to help others rediscover intimacy in their relationships with  God and with one another.

As marriage coaches and counselors, the Delaplanes bring tools and methodology to couples to learn how to identify emotional needs in the marriage and how to better meet one another's needs.  Gary and Elvira are accredited Trainers for Intimate Life Ministries, Inc.  The Church of God and Intimate Life Ministries, Inc have also recognized them as Family Ministry Directors. They are trained volunteers on the Link Counseling Center's "Survivors of Suicide" Support Team.  The Delaplanes have spoken to youth groups, prayer groups, and training seminars on a broad array of subjects covering marriage, relationships and suicide.  Gary has a  masters degree in counseling and is a Licensed Christian Counselor.  Their training is never-ending.
